About the Author

The author resides in the lovely city of San Antonio, TX with her husband. And dogs. Quite a few dogs. All are rescues and each has their own unique character. One (or more) may appear in her writings. None are actually Barghests. At least, probably not.

Barghest folklore originates in Northern England with tales of huge black dogs of supernatural origin. Often portrayed as shapeshifters with a human form, they are typically referred to as portents of death. They were considered very dangerous and several stories tell of brave villagers going into the wilds to rid the area of a Barghest only to turn up dead the next day with horrific claw and teeth marks.
